The Barn at Willow Brook is a family-run wedding venue set in the beautiful rolling hills of Virginia’s wine country. The Madden family leveraged the Barn Pros process and grid system to personalize their Caretaker 72 monitor barn to bring their business vision to life. Designed to provide function and elegance while complimenting the natural beauty of the landscape, The Barn at Willow Brook has become a place to gather and celebrate year-round.
How the Madden family designed their Caretaker barn to function as a venue:
Partial loft:
A partial loft creates multiple levels of usable space within the venue, each highlighting the beautiful details and features of the barn.
The upper loft space creates an area for bride and groom first-looks, serves as a beautiful and unique area for wedding party photos and then can be used as additional reception space later in the day.
On the opposite side of the barn the loft is removed, creating an open, warm reception hall that is full of light and warm wood tones. Douglas Fir interior posts reach from floor to ceiling and tongue & groove covers the interior of the barn. The stunning hand-forged chandelier takes advantage of the epic 36ft tall ceilings while the full wall of windows provides expansive views of the surrounding rolling hills.
Open and enclosed shed roofs:
The Barn at Willow Brook is a perfect example of the versatility of shed roof options. One open shedroof creates a beautiful covered outdoor patio area for cocktail hours and social space. The opposite side of the barn features a fully enclosed shed roof with no interior walls to create more indoor reception space while maintaining a balanced silhouette for the barn itself.
Siding and gable end treatments:
Douglas Fir Tongue & Groove siding, paired with gable end treatments of Rough Sawn Fir and Northwest Cedar Battens are painted white and provide subtle, elegant lines, contrasting black windows, black roof, light fixtures and hardware.
